Positive Reframing

Today is a new day and I'm trying to be more positive. In the class that I teach, the students have to do an exercise in the psychological health chapter that reframes negative statements into positive ones. So here goes:

Negative: I only got about 3 or 4 hours of sleep last night.
Positive: I may just make it through all of the Turner Classic Movies on Demand by the time August rolls around. Last night/This Morning: Lolita.

Cross this name off the baby name list, ha ha ha!

Negative: My belly is expanding and looking flabby.
Positive: My husband gets more and more excited as the belly gets bigger. By the end of the day, I am so bloated that I can really push it out and it looks "real".

Negative: First trimester symptoms SUCK!
Positive: The symptoms sound really funny when your husband reads them to you from the What to Expect When your Wife is Expanding book. (BTW, I got this book for my husband months before we were even trying b/c I found it at a close out sale at a local book store. It is pretty funny and I enjoy hearing him read the monthly list of things to 'watch out for'.)
