Now I'm back on the "I LOVE PREGNANCY" train. Why? We had our first ultrasound this morning!
Talk about crazy. There actually IS a baby inside of me folks. The ultrasound technician called our baby a rockstar (which I secretly...ok not so secretly loved). Apparently he/she was in great positions for measuring what needed to be measured. I gave my belly an extra little rub after that.
The neck folds look fine and based on all the measurements today, he/she is right on track to arrive 8/31. The crown to rump measurement is 6 cm.
Here are two of the zillion shots we were sent home with:

I apologize that they are on their side. I tried cropping all the personal info out of them for the blog and can't seem to rotate them so just rotate your head :)
We were also able to hear the heartbeat again, with a picture of the EKG. It was WAY clearer than the ghetto-fied doppler machine that they used a couple of weeks ago. We could see the blood flow through the umbilical cord. It really was so strange.
After the ultrasound, I had to give one vial of blood to conclude the down syndrome screen. I was able to lay down for it so I didn't pass out but I still had the gross dizzy feeling. Thankfully the hubs bought me some eggs and toast :)
As far as my belly is concerned. I'm not entirely sure that I have one yet. I start the day with nothing really and then by the end of the day have a small one due to bloating, probably. However, I was excited when my friend BLK hugged me over the weekend she thought she could feel a little something. Hey, I'll go with it.
