18 weeks! I have come down with some sort of sinus congestion/ sore throat thing. Ick. As if I wasn't already tired enough! The neti pot plus vitamin C drops seem to be helping the congestion. Still having wackadoo sleep. Last night - 3 AM to 6 AM WIDE awake. I think I have maybe come to accept the fact that this is just not going to get any better. Hopefully I will get used to getting no sleep at some point!
Today is a historic day in the life of this pregnancy - the first time I am breaking out official maternity pants. Man these things are comfy! These are a pair of plain khaki pants from Gap. I did not buy them from Gap - I bought them from a local consignment store. They were definitely too short for me as regular pants, but they look very cute hemmed as cropped pants. Did I just call my maternity pants "cute"?! I guess I did. The band on these is the low band - I can't think of the technical name for it. But basically it does not go above your belly. A couple of previously preggo people have told me that this band is great for the second trimester but that it doesn't always work very well for the 3rd trimester because it feels like your pants are falling off at that point. Most people that I have talked to actually prefer the really crazy pants - the one with the belly pouch that basically goes up to your boobs. I bought a pair of pants with the huge pouch over the weekend. They seemed comfortable too. So I have one pair of each kind - the low rise and the high rise. I'll let you know what I think. I still think that skirts/dresses are the most comfortable option, but it is nice to break those up with some pants now and then.
